A Sophisticated Bermuda-Style House in Naples, Florida

Living Room

Bursts of sunny yellow and fuchsia refresh traditional architecture in the living room of this Naples, Florida, home designed by Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller of Carrier and Company. A hanging mobile light fixture by David Weeks "artfully fills" the soaring ceiling. Love seats in Larsen's Bouquet Garni II bring texture and pattern to glossy Venetian plaster walls.

Ottoman

An ottoman covered in Hinson's Abington chenille is a plush perch in the living room. The painting by Betty Parsons contains all the colors in the room.

Kitchen

"The dining chairs and kitchen stools are a typical bamboo Chippendale style, but in high-gloss lacquer they're surprising," Carrier says. "It's like they're candy-coated." The yellow glaze for the walls was inspired by the backsplash tile by Popham Design. The kitchen cabinets are original, but the countertops were updated with Caesarstone quartz. The warm patina of Circa Lighting's Goodman Hanging Lamps in antique brass adds contrast to all the bright colors.

Dining Room

In the dining room, a plaster-dipped chandelier and niches lined in Twenty2's Paperweave lighten the look of the 18th-century table.

Family Room

Family room walls are glazed yellow to make "every day feel sunny." Curtains in Alan Campbell's Potalla linen-cotton and sofas in Rogers & Goffigon's Violetta cotton velvet.

Powder Room

The powder room's cheery wallpaper is from Madison and Grow.

Library

The library "is meant to be a cocoon," Miller says. Curtain fabric in a starfish-and-coral pattern by Zimmer + Rohde.

Library Walls

Framed drawings in the library add pattern to walls covered in Donghia's Maestro Walls linen.

Lanai

On the lanai, a sofa in Manuel Canovas's Tamarin.

Hat Rack

Lacquered red, a Victorian hat rack becomes even more sculptural.

Master Bedroom

The iron bed from Hollyhock takes advantage of the soaring ceiling. "The master bedroom has the second-highest ceiling in the house, so to make it cozy and separate it from the seating area, we made the bed a room within a room," Carrier says.

Sitting Area

"Compared to the visual clarity in the rest of the house, the master bedroom is softer and more atmospheric," Miller says. In the seating area, curtains in Groves Bros.' Ceci cotton "feel painterly. You're not sure if they're blue or green." Sponged walls change color with the light, but the Sahara carpet from Beauvais "is more defined; its blues, greens, and browns look hand-drawn."

Master Bedroom Art

A large photo triptych adds a tropical spirit to subdued glazed walls.

Master Bathroom

The master bathroom feels like a dressing room with an ottoman covered in Moriyama fabric from Lee Jofa. Travertine floors are a close match to Larsen's Brio wall covering.

Guest Room

The guest room walls are covered in a Larsen wallpaper.

Pool

McKinnon & Harris chaises with buttercup-yellow Sunbrella cushions. Landscape design is by Ellin Goetz.

Dining Pavilion

An orchid greenhouse was converted into a dining pavilion with a root-base zinc-top table from Mecox Gardens. Bamboo reeding between the rafters "feels like a grass roof," Carrier says.

Poolhouse

The poolhouse, with cushions in Pollack's Shoreline fabric, "was a cavern before we installed the mirror," Carrier says. "Now it reflects the light and is so inviting."

Outdoor Dining Area

An outdoor dining area is anchored by a Chiswick garden bench from Janus et Cie.

Exterior

The Bermuda-style house is painted pale salmon. "There are few places where you can have a pink house," Carrier says. "So why not?"
